St Peters Infant's School Governors

Parent Governor Vacancy - currently none

About the Governors

There are no committees; the Governors meet as a Full Governing Body at each meeting seven times per year.

Who are we and what do we do?

We are a team of people (comprised of staff, parents and community representatives) who work closely with the Headteacher to make key decisions vital to the successful running of the School. We play an important role in improving standards throughout and agree the School's budget. In other words, it is a meaningful role that we don't take lightly.

How can we be contacted?

Governors can be contacted through the School Office. Two of them are parents of pupils who can often be found around the School Entrance at the beginning or end of the day. If you have any queries, do ask.

  • Tim Rising - Chair of Governors

I have been a Governor since November 2010, initially as a Parent Governor and now as the Chair of Governors. My interest in education started when I taught science in a rural school in Malawi in 1999 to 2000 through Voluntary Service Overseas.

I work for Camden Council as a procurement manager where I am responsible for buying social care services for vulnerable adults and for children. In October 2012 I became the Chair of the Resources Committee which in particular has responsibility for school budgets and financing. I look forward to continuing to work alongside the team of Governors and staff to keep St Peter's a happy place to learn and work.

In 2019-2020 Tim attended 7/7 Full Governing Body Meetings.

  • Lawrence McVeigh

Lawrence has been a valued member of the Governing Body for 19 years, 10 of which he served as Chair of Governors. His loyalty to St. Peter’s has never wavered and he has given many hours and dedication to the school during his time with us over the years.

In 2019-2020 Lawrence attended 7/7 Full Governing Body Meetings.

  • Eunice McMillan - Vice Chair of Governors

I was appointed a Community Governor in 2015. I have two grown up sons who were educated in two local schools, and my husband and I have both retired from working lives associated with the NHS.
I believe that all children have the right to the best education possible and that they should feel secure and valued. I will strive to ensure that the pupils attending this school will continue to be equipped with the tools to become well balanced, contributing members of society, capable of achieving their full potential.

In 2019-2020 Eunice attended 5/7 Full Governing Body Meetings.

  • France Bryce

Frances' children both attended St Peter's Infants where she became a volunteer and an active member of the PTA. During her children's time here, she became a Governor.

In 2019-2020 Frances attended 7/7 Full Governing Body Meetings.

  • Jo Worrall

My own children came to St Peter's 20 years ago and I soon started volunteering in school and became an active member of the PTA. I joined the school team several years later as a Teaching Assistant, before being encouraged to train as a teacher. The ethos of this nurturing small school and the positive impact it had on all three of my children during (and after) their time here inspired me to return to St Peter's several years ago. I am proud to work here now as Deputy Head Teacher. I believe that, as a Governor, I have a unique view and can see the "whole picture".

In 2019-2020 Jo attended 7/7 Full Governing Body Meetings.
